JHSII, you haven't proven yourself yet. I requested you to provide a piece of information that proved that you haven't, not a vague statement to the same effect. You didn't. Can you not find one?
W. - 2015/3/10
Nona, when you first started doing your dual comment (correct then one line of insult), I didnt believe you, now I do.

Oter may notice that it isnt the first time there is a long hiatus. The comic didnt die then. It probably will continue. Author have a right to vacation as everyone else.

Also, JHSII, I know you can be a good, constructive crittic, and you probably feel offenced at some people here (maybe including me), but implied or passive-agressive insult are still insults, and you take a stab every post.

And the comment on reading, along with the humor Nona reverse had have at your expense, is really ironic.
JHSII - 2015/3/9
I have yet to post any insults or attacks. Maybe you should try reading what is actually posted, or is that too much for you, Anon?
Nice projection though.
Anon - 2015/3/9
JHSII, do you post anything other than insults and attacks? Find me something that suggests you're any better than us.

If the problem is obsession with something that isn't your own, and blind devotion to the same which manifests in baseless defense of every one of its multitudinous flaws, then yes, I would indeed say you are the one with the problem. If you'd deign to directly reply to any of my comments, I'd be glad to discuss the matter further.
JHSII - 2015/3/9
So, a number of people come in and post nothing but insults and attacks, and I'm the one with the problem?
That's an interesting way of looking at it.
Nona Reverse - 2015/3/9

"I really enjoyed this comic. I meant to suggest they're busy with DisReality Gears and myriad others, because until four strips ago the story hasn't advanced after Dypen took over. I hope they'd see the comment, and let everyone know if they can't finish this. Or tie jokes directly to a story, rather than doing stand-alone gags. I like it, but that's all they've done."

"I totally see where JHSII is coming from. Criticism generally isn't helpful to anybody, I think. To connect use of the phrase 'constructive criticism' with 'then tried to offend' makes no sense at all."

It's an awesome idea for a game title, but I don't carry a Legacy of Hatred. JHSII isn't helping the comic, and nothing would if it stays on permanent hiatus. But at least constructive criticism is appropriate, while to disrespect the comic using this section, we can play word games. Right? Happy
Arguments are fun where they belong only %u2013 in messageboards.
May JHSII be @!#$$%&&****@ ***@$#*@@##* by an animatronic Christmas sleigh containing many squirrels.
Anon - 2015/3/9
Hoo-hoo, boy, tl;dr all around. My last comment here was almost two months ago, and I'm glad to see that my legacy of hatred of how monotonous and useless this comic is hasn't died out. Thanks Nona, you're really carrying the torch. And what would the criticism be without a mindless follower like JHSII defending this dying ember of a webcomic at all costs, despite rational argument and sense?

I'm most amused by the fact that I completely forget about this comic for a month or two and come back to see it hasn't updated, and yet JHSII (who coming here what, daily? At least weekly. All to the same bad poetry that has been plastered on the page for months) fumes at people for wasting their time and flaming a webcomic they don't like. Good lord.

JHSII, word of advice. When literally everyone else around you has one opinion, you aren't necessarily in the wrong for disagreeing with them. Many great strides in science have been taken when the voice of one stood against the voice of the multitude. However, when that single voice just harps on the same note again and again? When the voice of the multitude takes apart and analyzes the argument of the one voice, and deconstructs it to point out and thoroughly address the flaws in its reasoning and arguments? And then when the one little voice shouts back, with no context nor substance "You're wrong, I'm right, everything you say proves me more and more right" in the way you have at least three times on this comment thread alone? Then maybe...just maybe...the one lone voice is actually a complete and utter moron who's clinging to a fallacious argument like the mast on a sinking ship.
JHSII - 2015/3/8
Checking to see who is holding a gun to who's head and forcing them to come here and criticize...
Me - 2015/3/7
Two months and no update - just let this once-great comic strip die already.
W. - 2015/2/27
to be honest JHSII, you a been 'feeding the troll' a bit.
About the cardboard, a possibility is that this (background torch tiny larry spikes) is one instance of an illusiory spell.
Larry being a bard, he can cast those easily and only need the lvl-1 one.
JHSII - 2015/2/27
Both of you, JHSII???? Huh????

The torches would be a minor illusion - if the background was cardboard. Of course, in-game, the board would have been made out of something other than cardboard, as they didn't have it in that time period. More than likely the torches would be illuminated on a cloth frame, with possibly a minor illusion if someone wanted them to flicker like real torches.
Tiri - 2015/2/26
Ha ha. And I was talking to both of you, JHSII. Also, if the background is cardboard, only a severely mentally retarded person would stick real miniature torches onto it. Just saying.
Prowl - 2015/2/25
Now I get it - the glacial updates ARE the tribute to OotS!

Like waiting weeks for an OotS update? You'll LOVE waiting months for an update of Anti-Heroes!
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/23
I was wondering if that stone wall set-background is made of cardboard. Are those real, flaming little torches?
JHSII - 2015/2/23
Tiri, if you want to have peace here, why don't you tell that to Nona?
Talkamancer - 2015/2/23
adjective
1.
(of similar things or occurrences) appearing or happening at irregular intervals in time; occasional:
sporadic renewals of enthusiasm.
2.
appearing in scattered or isolated instances, as a disease.
3.
isolated, as a single instance of something; being or occurring apart from others.
4.
occurring singly or widely apart in locality:
the sporadic growth of plants.
Tiri - 2015/2/23
Ok, I was actually only referring to the last 2 post by you and Nona before I wrote that comment, JHSII. So maybe one of us wrongly guessed which statement(s) Nona was replying to. Also, the comment war is starting to get a bit tiresome, so let's just have peace. Ok?
Subzero008 - 2015/2/23
Ugh, and here I thought OOTS updated slowly.

I don't get it. I know that the authors have lives and all, but there hasn't been a single update in nearly a month. I just can't keep interest in a comic that updates once a month.

Like, is there news? Some kind of explanation for their absence?
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/23
JHSII:
"I totally see where JHSII is coming from. Criticism generally isn't helpful to anybody, I think. To connect use of the phrase 'constructive criticism' with 'then tried to offend' makes no sense at all."
JHSII :

"Satire- The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices.
Maybe? I thought it was vaguely referential humor in an OotS pastiche.

"I think JHSII only reads the end of my comments. I put down what I feel is my best comment in this section, and then tried to offend. If that keeps gettin' responses, there will be lots of comments. If there are a hundred comments, Dypen might get interested and check this section, then see the beginning of my comment. Happy"
I got to it first. Hah.
JHSII - 2015/2/22
Misinterpret? After what Nona has posted to me in the past?
Should I repost some of it here in case you missed it?
Tiri - 2015/2/22
People can misinterpret things sometimes, JHSII. I'm not surprised Nona did, given the hostility already being directed at him/her for the Twenty Questions thing. Doesn't really prove anything.
JHSII - 2015/2/22
Thanks, Nona. I never mentioned you, but if that's the way you take it, then you prove me right yet again.
Tiri - 2015/2/22
Animatronic what? Christian? Also, the answer was bird's nest fern.
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/21
"I really enjoyed this comic. I meant to suggest they're busy with DisReality Gears and myriad others, because until four strips ago the story hasn't advanced after Dypen took over. I hope they'd see the comment, and let everyone know if they can't finish this." Sorry, again with it.
I really hope this great comic updates soon! It%u2019s been seven years and three-hundred-eighty pages since strip one, so there really should be more dedication to the updates, or some promise of a resolution. But against countless, regenerating trolls, I hold out!

May JHSII be @!#$$%&&****@ ***@$#*@@##* by an animatronic Chri . . . I already used that one. My previous comment dealt with the strip, and was shot down. So, anybody have suggestions?
JHSII - 2015/2/21
No, but the trolls would like for it to be dead.
Subzero008 - 2015/2/21
So, this comic is dead?
Ildefonse - 2015/2/20
This nonsense has nothing to do with this comic. Find somewhere else to do it.
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/20
Guess 1: Dandelion?
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/19
W.,
I apologize for it all. I offer this: page 345 still is called "testing". Is this a mistake? Also, while it's nighttime by panel eight, before anyone else boarded the ship, Lana is clearly shone under a blue sky clear enough for seabirds to be visible in the upper portion. I wonder why this was so? Is the answer spam hibiscus?
W. - 2015/2/19
@ Tiri, Nona Reverse
I understand the will tomaintain the comment alive, but these kind of forum game have no place in a section for commenting on a story and border on spam. If you want to play, you should exchange mail or similar mean and continue in private.
Tiri - 2015/2/13
Yes, yes, possibly yes, yes, no, no. Ignoring the last three.
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/13
Thank you, Tiri! Does it have green leaves? Does it grow in warm climates? Would gardens in North America or Western Europe contain any of this plant? Is it widespread? Is it Dane f***ing Cook? Are the seeds large? Does it grow in direct sunlight? Does the radical extend more than half a foot into the ground? Is the stem exceptionally strong? These were twenty-three questions, so please do ignore as many as you like.
I'll make a guess, next?
Tiri - 2015/2/13
No, no, counting the third question as two, and no to both. Technically edible but I would say no.
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/11
Is it heavily aromatic? Does it feature prominently in the lore of D&D? Is it often worn with the sort of attire that can be bought from a haberdashery, or is it a reader of books? Is it completely edible, like I always imagined whoever played Willy Wonka as being?
Tiri - 2015/2/11
It's smaller then the largest mortal. No thorns. Does not recite stories. Does not grow in China. It is not coniferous. It is a plant.
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/10
I made a mistake. It's a plant, and with stem, meaning clearly it is not 11,554.968 centimeters tall. I used nine questions, and it could have been only seven!!!
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/10
Thank you greatly, Tiri!
Is it smaller than a mortal? Can it grow thorns? Does it recite stories from the Third Reich that were known only to J. Goebbels? Does it grow in the western part of the lowland portion of southwestern China's Sichuan Basin near the northeastern upper slopes of Mount Emei? Is it coniferous? Is it a plant?
Prowl - 2015/2/9
At the end of the dungeon is the legendary Webcomic That Wouldn't Update!
Tiri - 2015/2/9

Tiri:
I seriously forgot! I'm sorry! "It does not grow berries. Its stem is taller than a breadbox. It does not know parkour."
Does it flower?
. . . Did I lose the chance?
JHSII - 2015/2/8
More trolling from Nona. No real effort yet at anything constructive.
Thanks for proving me right.

I totally see where JHSII is coming from. Criticism generally isn't helpful to anybody, I think. To connect use of the phrase "constructive criticism" with "then tried to offend" makes no sense at all. You have to constructively criticize one group, and insult another, because those things don't mix. I got the Tomb of Horrors reference, whether it was intended or not . . . ? No one would commit to a calm discussion long enough, so I thought to try this way. There don't seem to be panels enough for a discussion lasting over fifty comments.

I read the entire comment. Nona is just trolling. Nona even admitted it when Nona posted "and then tried to offend". There's no "constructive criticism" in that.
If Nona was looking for "a better way", then Nona wouldn't be trolling. Nona could even offer to help with something.
Heck, there are ways to generate 100 comments without being deliberately offensive. How about a discussion on which module this comic references - it looks like Tomb of Horrors. And yes, trust me, everything in Tomb of Horrors is a trap!!

I still hope Dypen will see the comment. Technical difficulties, but this is a three hundred eighty pages webcomic with three people working on it, which began almost exactly seven years before the last strip posted. NOT EVEN AN ANNIVERSARY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.
Tiri - 2015/2/6
They are trying, at least.
drivinallnight - 2015/2/6
Just wanted to send a thank you out to the artist and writers that have kept this cslice alive despite the original ones giving up, it's nice to check up on this one sporadically and finding a few new pages to read.
JHSII - 2015/2/3
Dork Tower hasn't updated since January 30.
So, should I go there and tell them how much I hate their comic and how they should just drop dead and stop?
No, because that would be trolling.

I await the next comic here at Anti-Heroes!!
Tiri - 2015/2/2
Now that I think about it, Nona is right. Really nothing of much consequence has happened for a long time.
Nona Reverse - 2015/2/1

JHSII :
Satire- The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices.
Maybe? I thought it was vaguely referential humor in an OotS pastiche.
I really enjoyed this comic. I meant to suggest they're busy with DisReality Gears and myriad others, because until four strips ago the story hasn't advanced after Dypen took over. Also, burn in hell. Commenting is fun.
Fair enough.
JHSII - 2015/2/1
It looks like Nona has never played D&D before - especially with people who aren't gifted at being songwriters or musicians. Nona is also apparently also unfamiliar with homage or satire - which are the entire reasons that this comic exists in the first place.
That's all fine.
Nobody's forcing you to come here, Nona. Nobody's forcing you to read the comics that you apparently hate so much.
So, here's an idea.
You don't like the comic, don't come back. Leave the rest of us alone. We do like the comic, and we do appreciate the effort that they're putting into it.
Fair enough?
Nona Reverse - 2015/1/30
Leakingpen is sure not a songwriter. That's fine. If Dypen is too busy to write OR draw, can they either let the comic die or go away? Quigley will never have enough of an opportunity to get back to this. The creation shouldn't stagger around like a mindless corpse. I like the comic, I li-lik-saw their work, and if it takes two years to reach the next phase of a poorly told story, then at least the comic deserves proper burial. For earlier strips.
JHSII - 2015/1/18
And this ballad is still way better than what most players would come up with when playing their characters. (especially those of us with no talent in that area)
Psion - 2015/1/18
@Anon:
I'm sure they know the ballad isn't great. It doesn't have to be.

We know that Laris is a bard, and we know he's singing.
Many author's wouldn't even go so far as to write a mediocre* poem. If they are proud of their achievement, they are well within their rights to be (unless they're actualy skilled poets/songwriters).

If you were writing a comic, would you go so far as to write a song when the story needed it?

*I wouldn't actually call it mediocre. It's good enough that it serves its purpose quite well, and doesn't sound bad when read.
Tiri - 2015/1/15
I doubt they can write something as long as this, though.
Me - 2015/1/14
3 year olds can rhyme.
Tiri - 2015/1/14
It's not horrible. At least they got it to rhyme.
Anon - 2015/1/13
I just want to ask, are you proud of yourself? Do you *think* this is clever, stylish, well-written poetry? I want to know if you think you're doing well.
Tiri - 2015/1/11
What's wrong with bards?
The Dude - 2015/1/10
I like this! Finally a bard gets to be a bard! (I was never sure why anybody would want a bard in their party, but this helps make the case for inclusion.)
Mad Lemmey - 2015/1/10
good one gents, like where this is going!

At least it's not fifty pages of filler, this is definitely a cool way of doing a b-plot, and helps a bard to tell his tale!
Very happy
Nona Reverse - 2015/1/10
GRRR-EEAAAT! Leakingpen is sure as hell not a song writer, but great. Please keep up the good work!
